More drawingsss

Posted in Uncategorized on January 24th, 2010 by bean

I’ve been neglecting my posts, but not my drawing!  These cover the last few days…

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but my scanner doesn’t seem to want to work with the new compy. You know those Apple ads that say you don’t have to install drivers and everything just works? They’re a fucking lie. Jerks.

There is some lame life drawing after the break.

MacBook time!

Posted in Art Things on January 18th, 2010 by bean

It is so nice to finally have a computer that can actually handle Photoshop – I guess the logic board on this thing is a-okay.

Just a couple of studies of works by J.S. Sargent that I whipped up. I need to do a few of these a day in order to improve. That is my new year’s resolution.

Another final and a tiny Uncle Sam

Posted in blog on December 7th, 2009 by bean

Well, my last final project is done. Thank god, now I can rest up and try to get rid of this nagging cough and maybe play a bit of Mario Kart.

I’ve thrown up a few little doodles after the break that I did for the site. I’ve got a few comics I’ve been puttering away on too, I’ll try and post those up this week.

Final project, ARTS101 and 120

Posted in Art Things on December 2nd, 2009 by bean

Here’s a crappy cell phone photo of my final project for Arts101, which is Drawing I. It’s about 20×30, done in compressed charcoal and chalk.

sketches

Posted in Art Things on November 29th, 2009 by bean

Did a few sketches today, but these were the only two I felt like sharing. I guess I was heavily influenced by studying for my Japanese test, because I drew an anime thing (Izumi Konata from Lucky Star, in fact), and a vrey Ghost in the Shell-looking character. Trying to draw a little every day to start the creative juices again. Seems to be working so far, but all I seem to be able to draw are established characters. Hrm.

MEDI 111

Posted in comic on October 9th, 2009 by bean

First of all, I would like to say welcome to all those from our MEDI111 class who have clicked on the little link I left behind, leading you to my humble site.

I started this site way back in 2003 as a naive teenager, in an attempt to get in on the webcomics craze that was just beginning to boom at the time. As you can see, things didn’t go as planned.

Mostly, the doodles above will be accompanied by a write up here. They’re a means of expression as well as relaxation in the face of rigid and somewhat limiting projects which I do for the Visual Arts program. Sometimes a slice of life, always embellished the proper amount, and hopefully enjoyable.

Now, it has been said that I have exotic (some might say eclectic) tastes. My friends and family all know this. Little surprise, then, that I often find myself wandering the asian food aisles at local grocery stores in search of some new beverage sensation. I’ve found many favorites this way: Pocari Sweat, milk tea, Calpis (pronounced car-pees) and (as seen above) the Korean pineapple soda known as Oran-C.

Goodness, it’s been a long while since I’ve inked with a crow quill, and I think it shows. One thing I have promised myself is that I should continually challenge myself and attempt to improve my artwork as much as I can. Admittedly, I didn’t spend as much time on this one as I chould have.
